Thanks for verifying. I might shoot for the antique and if it looks like I will get caught out at night I will just trailer it on those occasions. Save street driving for sunny afternoons.

Just an FYI from Michigan - I (and my friends)have run historical plates for the 16 years and never had an issue with the law. there are multiple cruises around her every day of the week (via cruse news) and if I happened to be stopped (which hasn't happened) I could tell I'm going to such.
License Plates for Michigan’s Historical Vehicles Michigan, the automobile capital of the world, has many residents who collect and restore antique vehicles. Since 1956, the state has offered a special, inexpensive vehicle registration for older vehicles that are operated on the road only occasionally. Many antique cars, trucks, and motorcycles qualify for special registration as Michigan historical vehicles. A qualifying vehicle may be registered with the Michigan Secretary of State either with a Michigan historical vehicle plate, or an actual Michigan license plate the same year as the historic vehicle’s model year. To qualify for a historical or authentic license plate, vehicle must be: • 26 or more years old -- based on vehicle model year subtracted from current calendar year • Owned solely as a collector’s item • Used only for events such as historical club activities, parades, and car shows. (c) $30 fee (make checks or money orders payable to “State of Michigan”). (d) The completed application on the reverse side. Thanks. Seems like similiar stuff to what we have here. We have just one plate for an antique. The thing here is that you are not supposed to drive at night with the antique plate. The reasoning is that older cars do not have good lighting systems neccessary for night driving, like a model t. It also states that you can't use it for regular transportation, which I wasn't planning on.
Pennsylvania is a commonwealth, if it doesn't make sense Harrisburg will do it.
I have an antique tag on my wagon which is rusty as heck. I was driving at night. I was sitting right next to a cop at a light, didn't bother to pull me over even though I had the antique tag. Was actually an easy process. My insurance on it is amazing too. About $35/year plus other misc expenses, and it's valued at $5k, which it's not even close to that in value.
I'm not sure if you are excluded from driving at night with an antique classification...from the link you posted under the inspection heading it sounds like if your lights are operable you can drive it at night..."Antique vehicles operated exclusively between sunrise and sunset are exempt from the normal lighting requirements of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, but must have their original lighting equipment"
