If you’ve got a cool color, drop it in here, I’m trying to decide on a main paint color for my car, but I’m not so sure on my choice of GM’s Palomar Red :

I think that’s the color, but I can’t find any consistency with searches anywhere. Hell, some samples even look pink to me.
I can’t go radical either since I’ll be running with Dark Maple interior.

That Palomar would look great with a buttload of stripper glitter in it. Check out Cadillac Firemist....
You mean Cerease(?) Firemist?

I seriously dig this color, but having the flake run seriously scares me.
I might just paint trim in flake if I go this route 🤔

Nothing wrong with buying a spray can in each of the color(s) "under consideration" and making large samples by shooting a few coats onto a larger piece of sheetmetal, something like 6 x 6 inches minimum ... you get to see more of the color in-person than you would with a paint chip and can see it under different lighting

When I was choosing a color for the respray I made samples of four different colors, not liking any of them I went with a fifth color

If we are talking reds, there is only one red that has ever caught my eye: Mazda's Soul Red Crystal

Hear it is a PITA to fix: https://www.repairerdrivennews.com/...crystal-color-might-be-trickier-for-painters/

I think I might get these 3 in pints to see what I can do with them. Maybe try to throw a little pearl in for shots and goggles, who knows.

Although I secretly want to try this Mercedes color...
