Paint spraying options

Give it the roller paint job! I was actually considering this for my Olds wagon for a while...

I don't have the link handy, but there were a few people that had painted their cars with Rustoleum and a roller. They would thin it way down, and put on like 2 coats at a time, let it dry for a day or two, then wet sand it smooth, then a couple more coats, , dry, more sanding, more coats, more sanding... and then finally after like 10 or 15 coats on some of them, they'd sand if and buff it out. It actually turned out pretty nice on some of them. Might be worth looking into if you love wet-sanding...

There is no need to buy a new compressor. Look at the tools section of Craigslist or your local paper (although newspapers are kinda obsolete and pointless nowadays) for a working used one. I would also try flea markets and garage sales too. Just be sure that it runs and the tank is not in bad shape if you get a used one. A tank rupture at 120psi could really ruin your day-and whatever the shrapnel hits! If you can, get a 2 stage compressor as they are much quieter and charge faster than a single stage.

The problem with taking it to a body school is that there is no guarantee. And I don't just mean on the paint job.
