Bad news is that upon firing the car back up and filling back up with coolant, my thermostat housing is leaking (I just put this new one on last week in preparation for the radiator install); this is the 3rd time in as many attempts that the housing has leaked. First was with a chrome (junk) water neck, Felpro gasket and no sealer, 2nd attempt was with chrome water neck, Felpro gasket and sealer (Permatex), and the third was with the new OE housing form Fusick's, with Felpro gasket and Permatex...I've never had a problem with the housing leaking before, and I know everyone has a differing opinion as to whether or not to use a gasket sealer/maker..but I've done it both ways, with two different housings, all on a new Performer RPM intake....I wouldn't think the surface is gouged, and I don't think I've over-torqued the bolts causing any warping.....but I am at my wit's end. Just something else to deal with, I guess.

It's good to see you, it's been a long time since I've seen you here......are you sure the intake isn't cracked

Thank you. Good to see you and good to be back...it has been a while.
Family, work, daily life gets in the way...plus we just relocated to Houston from Tennessee.

I wouldn't think it's cracked, as it was new, and I have no indication that it is the intake itself. The latest OE housing is leaking from the front (under the front vertical tube that goes to the water pump) and the other chrome neck never would seal at all around the housing. The common denominator could be that the intake is cracked/gouged or something, but I don't even want to think about that.

hope mamabear is doing good......that gasket shouldn't leak until the engine in warm cause there isn't much pressure in that spot until the thermostat has opened.

She is and I'll let her know you were asking about her.

I agree..it didn't start leaking there until I put the radiator cap on and pressurized the system....and the rest is history.

Welcome to Houston. I live in Spring on the north side.

Thanks Texas82GP. As you see, we are southwest in Stafford. We did actually look at about 3 houses in Spring on our trips down looking at homes. Spring was nice, just too much of a commute. My company is in Stafford, and I'm only 2-2.5 miles from work.

just wondering if it's your house or your workplace that moves 1/2 mile? ...😀
