So, I got my new carrier for the 7.5 today.
Looking up axle and gear sets, and bearing kits.
I see Moser Axles and also another vendor for gears have this in their listings
What Year GM 7.5"/7.625" Rear End?
1981 and older
1982 to 1999
2000 and newer

What would be the difference in a stock application other than 7/16-20 vs metric wheel studs?
My axle is the 1978 7.5, with a Camaro 7.625 series 3 carrier going in.
Direct swap other than the spline count or so I've read.
Axle bearings and seals seem pretty straightforward, even with the axle swap?
What's the "diff" in the year break as listed?

There has to be some difference in bearing size. Get the 81 and older bearing kit, the rest should fit. Upgrade to either the solid pinion spacer or Ratech smart sleeve.

Read alot of those, seem to great people and very helpful.
Good way to run a business.....
Not one review can I find in their gear set and install kit that is priced waaay less than the others, Motive Gear is the only other vendor that comes close.
Is the courteous and helpful phone tech gonna sing to me to drown out the noise when the gears start howling 1000 miles after they're installed? :blam:
Do it once, do it right.
Maybe I should start a poll......
