Ordered up one of these flaring kits to do the 37 deg flares for the AN lines just to find out that they list as a 3/8 line hole in the flaring bar is not. Didn't have the most positive feeling on it since it's made by Performance Tool & none of their tools last past 15 minutes of use. I grabbed some scrap copper nickle just to see if it would do a usable flare. This where I saw that the 3/8" tube was too big. So I still snugged it up to watch it turn a circle into an oval. I compaied it to the bar in my 45 deg set & the 3/8" hole is smaller on the POS set. I went cheap to save some money now I return it to get my money back.

Sucks to hear. When I did mine I ended up buying the kind of tool you mount in a vice and then hammer in the die to create the flare. A major pain in the you-know-what, especially when flaring a section of hard line that's 8 feet long or so.

If you are flaring an aluminum tube the 45 degree flare will not leak with the AN fitting

It was the copper nickle & steel lines I got it for. I'm not as ticked as I could be since I knew better than buying anything with their name on it. For any aluminum lines I'll just see If I have luck with the 45 degree flare since it's working for you but I need thinner wall tubing as what I have is too thick since it's from the local hardware store.

I have the thick walled aluminum tube and it flares great with the 45 degree tool. I was told by my foren who owns a local speed shop that the 45 degree works when I picked up the tubing and AN hardware from his store. The cunifer tube you are using is pressty soft as well so I would think the 45 degree would work on that tube. I can ask my friend about the cunifer later as I'm headed there to pick up some more parts.

It's not cheap, but the Eastwood Flaring tool worked great. From the first practice flare (I did several) to the actual lines I needed.

Here's a video of me using it. (It's at minute 8:18)

That tool would be great if you are doing all the flaring on the bench but when doing the flaring on tubes that are installed in the car the common style of a flaring tool works. I use the KD flare kit
