sucks to see another one bite the dust
Seeing those stress cracks around the B-pillar, has got me wondering about my cutlass now.
I picked it up with a rebuilt title (yeah, i know im a dumbass, but it was cheap), and it looked like it had the quarters repaired, because of cracks around the back doors (c pillars) and in the jamb's. Then I noticed the bumper support mounts on the front of the frame rails are banged up real good. Found a few more "oddities" here and there with hardly noticeable damage......got me thinking this car must have been absolutely destroyed, before someone half assed fixed it

I wouldnt worry too much about that. I think some of the cracks are normal for these cars. As I looked at this one down the drivers side there was just way too much damage unfortunately all over the quarter, the B pillar was beat to hell by a tree I guess, the frame horns in the front look shifted, and there is a buckle in the frame rail on the side. This is the only reasons it's going to part.

EASY FIX!
X2!

A few hours on the frame rack and some new sheet metal and that thing is back in business...

And High Roller... yours didn't hold up well because there was nothing left of it! lol

That car is not a goner...
If the numbers still match then rebody it by doing a partial cowl transfer and swap the driveline/interior to another one.

believe you me, If I thought that I would be not losing any money I would invest in saving it. With my 85 I have rust, that with time and some spare parts I could fix. THe most expense in the 85 build is time and some materials. With the 86 I would need an entire body that would be rust free, the frame needs pulled and squared then add the seats its missing and finish off with paint and prep work.

I see at least 1500 in a rust free body...may be under estimating. It needs a body because of that B pillar, it is whacked.

500-600 to pull the frame straight.

Initial cost in the car $1500.00

seats either good shape or recondition a pair $500.00

So I am looking at $4,000 to get it into the shape it needs to be in before further restoration work (painting, powdercoating, sanding, small weld projects into the cowl)

If I were not working on saving another I may be more apt to source the cash into saving it.

B pillar is whacked hard and cracked the seam at the roof line. Need to take this in account as well as the frame pull. Frame pull be about 5-600$?
