I installed mine close to 2 years ago and I've had no problems at all.. no rattles , cracks , coming loose , or anything

You should be a spokesman because I'm sold! I was thinking of doing all kinds of things. I had thought about putting in a dash from different types of cars or I've heard you could scrape off the cracked padding and just use the plastic base. But I think I'll go with the same thing you did. Looks good in the picture!!

hey i had it done at rc's upholstery on littleyork just before airline google it up for the number, sorry , nice dash and gauge cluster how and what did you do to it exactly?
 
my question is after painting the speedo housing and glovebox is it close to matching also is it seamless like around the center vents i have the same red dash in rough shape and would like to do the same only i would have to spray most of the plastics to match thanks

It depends, but you may have to cut down the curled up edges of the cracks before you do it. If the dash is that bad, just hack away at it until the cap fits.
