The Okies got needlessly butthurt. If they were going for fake drama, they need to dial it back a bit. They ran 220mph in the 1/4 before the race and knew it and it was leaving hard and fast for a 1/8th mile race. They should have bet at least $10K on the race, even if they were racing John Force because they knew THEY were going to make a clean run.

They were racing a pro driver with an unlimited budget and they were whining about it. Kye Kelly would not have whined about it and sulked around before the race, he just would have smiled, taken Richard's Money and said see you next year.

Your Texas (bias) is showing. 😉

The "D" in Discovery Channel is for drama. Let's not kid ourselves here - LOL.

And the Podcast/Youtube bits offer a lot more insight into the real stories.

Do they admit it was ALL fake and was ALL just done for TV?

Do they admit they didn't really give a **** if RR get's in the car or not and the on camera pouting was all just bad acting?

If I'm going to go 180mph 10 feet from somebody who I think is a clown and whose stupidity can kill me, Discovery Studios couldn't pay me enough to whine and pout about him not wanting to race me and when he says he doesn't want to, then tell me to taunt him into doing something stupid. Never gonna happen.

The proper Okie response when they found out RR wasn't driving, should have be "thank you, Jesus!", not "I'll be in the truck, pouting about it".

I think in the end, the show and hype worked. Lots of people watched it. I still dog hot rods and street strip cars.

I haven't got to watch the show someone deleted it off the DVR and it's not on 'On Demand' yet.
