So I keep getting asked how to do things on the site, where stuff is, where to post, etc....

Would it be helpful if I made a few short videos that show how to do stuff on the site? From registration, posting, uploads, conversations, etc. etc. ?? Does this sound like it would be helpful to anyone? Maybe even good for the folks who ran screaming when I changed the site? 😀

Why not just make a thread for questions about how to navigate the forum. I bet even if you make videos you'll still get questions. If you do make a few videos it would be nice if the search option was highlighted and explained cause it seems like very few new members use it

you may be right, but rather than answer the same basic questions repeatedly, it'd be handy to just refer people back to the videos, and then they'd probably learn more than just the answer to the one question.... These would all be fairly short and to-the-point, so not like a two hour course on how to use the forum. There may or may not be a quiz after lol. Plus I need some more practice w/ Screenflow and recording, editing, etc. so there's that.

Edit: I've noticed too, that even if you tell people, "just go to the site and do X"... often they have no earthly clue what you're talking about. This way it'd actually *show* them what things do, where they are, and how to operate things.

It's the difference between reading the often cryptic instruction manual and having someone show you how to use something.
