As title says, it's a block, short block. Has a few pistons missing, no heads, no pan, not much of anything. It's only a two bolt, but it was cheap. Now what do with it? I do have a set of 305 vortex heads that need a rebuild..... Poll open for 2 weeks.

There is nothing wrong with a two bolt. I have made almost 4oo hp and 413 ft/lb torque in a well put together two bolt. They ain't makin anything cheap anymore. I would keep it, if it's in decent shape.

it's got no cracks, but i think the 283 is out. Need to measure the bore, but 4" is greater then 3.875" of the 283. Meh, for that I'll just have to tear down and rebuild the one in pops back yard.

If you want to increase the strength of the 2 bolt main block you could always add a set of splayed main caps and and it will be stronger than a factory 4 bolt main block (machining required)
