When my 305 was dropped in my car it ran fine. It just makes a bad knocking sound when held around 2300rpm. Thats the only time it knocks though. I have been doing some research and foud out its a possible bad rist pin but was looking for more possible opinions. My dad thought it was a dry lifter that hasnt gotten oil yet but the engine has probably seen 15hrs (yes, it is a slow coming project, not had much time to drive it) after sitting for about 20yrs. Guy we bought it from had rebuilt it when he was in technical college and never used it. So any ideas would be appreciated. Tearing engine out soon to rebuild. Just looking for things to look at when engine is apart. Thanks
