Hey I am going up June 1st to Detroit traveling by myself and need to know of a good safe place to stay for the night, I am staying with a buddy who is coming up on Saturday so he has all the reservations taken care of but I just need to find a place for 1 night. I will be driving the Hurst Olds and my license plate number is YBY 4N so if you see me out give me a shout anyone else going up there I am leaving from Dayton Ohio let me know. Thanks 😀

Hey Jim, That does sound like fun. I am in Dayton also but would not be able to leave until I get back from work Saturday morning so I could not get to Detroit before 1pm. Boardmember tobyp from Cincinnati might be interested as well. He has a sharp Cutty with a 350 Buick motor. I would have to leave Champaign Monday afternoon by 4pm to be at work Monday night Hmnn.

Beware of thieves and what you post on the internet.
Detroits a shithole and some of the Hursts and GNs stolen in the past few years were from or wound up being found there.

Thats why I have car insurance on the appraisal value of the car so let them take it, that's also why I was wanting to stay at a good hotel or motel not worried about the cost just want to stay at a nice safe place.

Well anyone live in or near detroit because I would like to book a room but don't know where the best place is to stay.

I am not too familiar with Detroit. I live about two hours west of it. If you are willing to drive an hour or two to your meet in detroit from the place you stay then there are plenty of little farm communities with a motel.

Well the first day of the Power Tour is at the GM Proving Grounds in Milford which is around half an hour or so northwest of Detroit. I don't know of a specific place to stay but Milford is a pretty nice somewhat upscale town.

That sounds like my kinda place then I will look for someplace near there to stay more worried about the car just started it today, it has been sitting for about 3 months since I haven't had time to work on it and the interior is out of it also but I will pick it up tomorrow. Had the front seats done but went ahead and had the back seats done also so I figured I would wait till the back seats were done. Well hopefully I will not have any issues wish me luck.
