I just finished swapping a 350 in my Grand Prix in place of the the 305... Well, i took the brackets off for the power steering pump and lost one of the brackets that bolts it to the heads. i mounted the pump and lined up the pulleys , but the pump bracket flexes when i attempted to to tighten the belt.I remember it having a bracket before i swapped the engine but it had a bolt going through the header with a stack of washers. I lost the bracket so i need help. :? I took off all the pulleys, water pump, alt. air pump and power steering off the 305.. i'd prefer a factory set up or fab something up.Thanks!

The bracket you seem to be referring to should bolt to the block and the outermost exhaust manifold bolt hole. On my car there is a spacer that lets it be used with a standard manifold bolt instead of a short header bolt. Now, on top of that is another bracket which is used both with the A/C compressor (R4 shortie style) and the PS pump. That one bolts to the outer header flange bolt and the one on the other side of the tube. The final bracket covers the front of the pump. Now, for tensioning, there are 4 mounting bolts to worry about. Yes, 4. One attaches to the back of the pump to the first bracket I discussed that uses one header bolt, another attaches to the bracket that mounts on top of it, and another to the water pump. These three are the slotted ones for adjusting tension. The final one attaches to the head and is a pivot point.

Spacer is 1.5 in:

Please note: This is the complete bracket set for both the A/C AND Power steering. The compressor is not installed, but all the brackets are ready for when I finish that project. (In case you were wondering, the A/C compressor also has 4 bolts and three of them are tensioners. The pivot bolt goes through the combo A/C and P/S bracket and the bracket that bolts only to the head)

Great info Thanks a lot now i can go look for that bracket.
