BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

Damn Shawn, sorry to hear that brother. Hopefully things are salvageable internally and you can get back up and running soon.

You put a mechanical gauge on it right?

Bad noises aren't encouraging 😔 😔
I did not, but I'm 100% positive it's correct. Three reasons. The Terminator and the instrument cluster each have their own sending unit, and both read the same
Then add in the noise.

You play with fire long enough and you're bound to get burned. I'm definitely not happy about it, but I think in the back of my mind I knew it was a possibility with the way the cam bearings looked. And I chose to believe the internet, then decided to push it even more by driving farther when I knew there was an issue.
So it's definitely my own fault. I guess it was my turn to FAFO 😂

Really sorry to hear, but glad you are taking it in stride

Well Saturday there was a cars and coffee at a semi local shop that always attracts higher end cars, but all are welcome. Decided to try to get my car there.
Made it 25 of the 27 miles and my oil pressure was dropping slowly the entire way. By the time I stopped I had zero.
Let it cool down for an hour, started it up and had 10psi. Was still 170°. Thought if I let it sit over night, maybe I could get it back home and figure out what was going on

So i tried to get it home today and made it about 15 miles before it was really making some noise. Made it to this parking lot and had to throw the towel in.
So the engine must come out. I have a feeling the cam bearings are the cause, but I know that I've caused some more damage now by pushing it.
I feel it's important to show the good side of things and the bad side, even when it's my fault.
Gotta walk away for a couple of days and try to figure out if I can salvage any of this season or not...
first &foremost I'm reallllly sorry this happened Shawn,i applaud you showing the downside to this hobby of ours.feels the world we live in a lot of people only post the positive side of their lives and it paints a false sense of reality that people get roped into & kinda discount their own lives by comparison.
my heart goes out to you brother as I'm experiencing problems with my new setup along side of some family issues here on the home front.i have no doubt you'll get this turned around

Thanks. In this age of filters that make women look perfect, and builds that have zero issues, parts are obtained for free, and the whole project only takes a week, I wanted to show what actually happens. Even though it was my own fault. Hence my little quip under my screen name in my my signature 😜
