I finally have had sometime to work on the bu's a bit. I started to unbolt things off the 81 to remove the frame and drive train. It will be going to my 80 bu. The 80 is in excellent condition virtually no rust except very very minor stuff. but the rear frame is rotted. I would have done just the rear rails but the rust goes up to far up the rail for the conrad rails.

My 81 is quite the opposite. the floors are rotted but the frame is solid as a rock. Today I painted some of the interior of my 80 and wow what a difference! I ran out of paint and I should have gone with my instinct of buying extra but I went with what the npd guy told me and only got two cans.

Anyhow here are some pics of the painted drivers side and the unpainted passenger side. The drivers side used to look the same as the passenger side.

What do you think?

Here is how the 81 sits.I will probably remove the frame this week sometime if time allows. Once I remove it I'll prep and paint it.

Re: project underway.

Man that looks 100 % better...I might try that sight for my interior...I figure now that the drive train is done for good, well maybe manual steering box later, It's time to do a few lil things inside 🙂

Here is my 81 which I am using for the frame which is going in the 80. The 81 I have had since I was 19 Now 35. So I am a bit attached but the car is going to cost alot more than I want to spend on body work and paint floors and all that stuff.

Great looking car. It looks super with the new 17" wheels. I especially like the original champagne gold color...and the interior looks really nice, too.
Keep up the good work. 8)
