Looking at replacing my body mounts and trying to decide. I've seen that the prothane kit is cheaper, but from what I've read they are considerably stiffer than ES. So what do you guys use and give some input. Thanks.

I have the Energy Suspension bushings. Seem to be fine. Obviously haven't driven the car yet but I don't see how you could get much stiffer than these without going to aluminum bushings.

I can tell you this, those mounts will introduce more vibration into your car. so you are sacraficing some comfort for stiffer body

I believe one of those companies suppplys the other. Always forget which is which.

The red bushings are softer then the black ones.Look for thier durameter rating.

I just did a couple of them on my wagon, doing a mix of poly and solid aluminum.
The rad support is red poly.
The 4 rear are red poly between the body and frame, the lower half (below the frame) are solid aluminum.

Nicer ride/handling with less wheel hop and squeeks.

I have energy suspension ones in black. I only have the sway bar bushings and links installed atm, but have the whole suspension kit so they will be in soon. I am hoping to not lose much in the way of comfort, just eliminate some body roll. I am still torn on whether I want to pay $300 for the stock GNX body bushings or just get the $175 for energy suspensions. I have heard that the energy suspension body bushings transfer more vibrations, but are more durable.

im putting a 383 stroker in my cutlass. the motor is fully worked and should put out 500 plus hp. im boxing the rear control arms, drag springs, etc... i am not a fan of pollyurithane bushings though. i have heard that they would not be right for my application and powerplant. what bushings should i replace? is there a kit available somewhere?

I have used , poly only, poly and rubber mixed and poly/aluminum mixed depending on the application.

I feel 95% of "poly issues" have to do with either improper install or not using the right bushing in the right application.

I just (this week) replaced the wasted rad support bushings with poly on my wagon. Out back the last 4 bushings (position 6 & 7) are poly between the frame/body and the bottom bushing aluminum.

Also removed the anti-hop bars, so the solid uca connection at the rear is now poly. The frame side are still 1le stock rubber.

Car feels much better, less squeaks, no wheel hop (which I was worried about), just better all around.

As far as suspension, the whole front suspension on my Cutlass is all poly, does not appear to be any bind when lifting the wheels 6" in the air.

😳 Nice double post by me. 😳
