I run Mobil 1 in my 1998 Nissan Frontier with 278k on it and I think it is probably part of the reason it does not use oil. I use Shell Rotella T in the Cutlass though because of the whole ZDDP thing on flat tappet cams. The Frontier's KA24DE engine is a solid flat tappet design, but it is DOHC and I don't think the followers need to rotate like a flat tappet pushrod engine.
I used to run the Mobil 1 in the Olds and had no issues, but have always used it in the truck since it was almost new in order to make it last longer and keep the engine from sludging. I expect 400k out of the engine, so I do what I can to make it last!
