Question for G Body of the Month

What determines the GBOTM winners????
I was really just curious, that's all. I figure the board or moderators or whoever already has access to any and all pics put up on this site and I was just wondering what the purpose of the additional post were for.
I figure it could either be picked by the moderators or a certain group of people each month (privately) and be a complete surprise to the owner of the car or a poll for the forum members to vote or something like that.
Just thinking out loud.... That's all....

I think it has always been based on a poll system. When it was done by GP403, he used to add a poll at the top for people to cast their vote. The poll would appear at the end of the month, and each member could cast 1 vote.
the system did fall appart for a short while, but I believe things are back in order. The last month was done by this system, very organised.

Although, I kinda like the idea you mentioned; about adding a hidden poll... so the stats can't be seen, of who's leading and who's not.
... the added element of surprise would be nice.

I also like the new system they've incorporated; where each month has a theme. I believe the last one was Wagons.

One other thing I would like to see incorporated, would be a SHORT description about the submission from the owner of the car. Just so we're not only voting on photo quality... but rather the car as a whole.

Thanks for saying that the past month was very organized, thats how 84dragcutlass and myself are trying to keep it.

My "setup" for a month is
- A submission thread for descriptions and pics at the beginning of the month
- A thread for voting and discussing the entries for the month at the end of the month
- And finally a thread dedicated to the winner of each month.

The winner is determined buy a public voting poll (all members can vote)

Im not sure if keeping who is in the lead private until we announce the winner is a setting or not, but if that is something you guys would like to do then maybe we can organize another form of voting, maybe PMing myself or 84dragcutlass with your vote.(that would probably get disorganized though)

yeah I could see how PMs could get disorganised. I was just thinking outloud too... I really like the poll that's currently there... but it'd be cool if the percentage tally of the poll was hidden from the voters/members until the results are sum'd up.

Also, I should mention... I really like the new "followUp" thread you guys do now, to announce the winner. I think that's new, and a really cool gesture. That's where I think the Vehicle-Description would really come in handy.

Agreed, we ask for brief descriptions of the car when it is being submitted so we have some background info on the car if it wins, but usually not enough info. I also ask the winner to post a reply in the "followUp" thread about their ride just for those who want to know more.

The way I see it..... It could possibly be the same guys submitting pictures every month. No, I haven't researched this nor do I really even care.... But for those that didn't win.... the pics are out there already for the months to come.
There are some very nice cars out there.
I guess that's just a nicer way of saying that I won't be submitting any more simply beacuse I am not trying to clog up the internet with pics of my car. I am proud of what I do have, just like anyone else and will gladly share any information or more pics, I can to help anyone else out. But I'm not interested in mine being a show car either...LOL
Congrats to ALL the winners.... Some awesome cars out there.

Since we have been using categories each month, most people's cars will only fit in a few a year.

Not Everyones car will fit into all themes so that way it makes it more fair and just because you have an amazing car doesnt mean u will win every month, just the month that ur car fits into. Best way we could find to make it as fair as possible so that everyone has a chance at winning in there catagory
