FWIW. This is my '81 (still in progress 🙁 ). It's on an '85 S-10 single cab long box chassis. Wheel base is about an inch too long at the front and track width is good using two wheel drive rims.

Hey, all. Thanks for all the input on this. I'm sad to say it, but i lost my chance at the elky i was considering. see, its sitting in a junkyard I'm at all the time, and it is somewhat salvagable. but, a few months ago, i lost my job, so i wasnt able to get it. shameful to see it sitting there, rotting away, but, what can ya do? can't save em all, right? maybe someday in the future i can give it a shot, but not now. I've got 3 other projects that i need to get on first, so it probley woulda been a bad idea to attempt another anyway, lol. thanks again to everyone who contributed. feel free to keep addin more stuff, nothing wrong with having all this info in reserve!

Hey, don't give up 'skid. Took me five years to find a junkyard shell at my price. Been a coupla years to pick up a canopy and some trim and 1/4 glass. Still collecting and keeping my eye out for the other goodies I have planned, as well. Good luck.

thanks, sonoma! no worries, i'm not letting this job loss get me down, gotta keep my head up high, find a new job, and keep going. i gotta save up for when my fiance gets home from iraq (shes in the army reserves), so, no downtime allowed! haha

anyway, nice elky. i like those S10 wheels on it. you said you used an S10 standard cab, longbed frame, correct? how well did it bolt up, aside from the slight difference in length you mentioned?
