I have an 88 Monte Carlo SS. Previous owner had removed multiple trim pieces and parts from the vehicle. I went to the salvage yesterday and picked up an antenna and windshield trim from an 86 Olds Cutlass Supreme sedan. Went out to quickly mock them up this morning before work so I could order the clips and it appears the windshield trim isn't correct. Is this the case? The Cutlass trim appears to curve more than the Monte windshield, specifically on the sides. I spent maybe two minutes at most so it could be that it was just a rushed check but any confirmation that this will or will not work would be appreciated.
Another item I picked up was the antenna. The Monte has no antenna mast. There is a hole in the fender and a threaded post(?) is sticking out but there's no gasket or anything around it. It appears something would fill in the space between the fender hole and the actual antenna. Inside the engine bay on the fender are two small bolts which are attached to the threaded post thats sticking out of the fender. The bolts dont look factory. There is an antenna line attached and connected to the factory cable that runs up behind the dash. I pulled the antenna mast from the Cutlass but the antenna has the chrome ring attached with the four spaces (sorry, I don't know the exact name for it) that a special tool I've seen is needed to remove it. I was able to get it off without ruining the part but the antenna itself is threaded, like it screws into something, not the other way around like the Monte has now.
Finally, the Monte had manual windows and locks from the factory. I was able to source the complete harness (doors and under dash), purchased the lock rods, switches, new door lock actuators and new window motors. I now need the window regulators themselves and I should be set. Would the regulators from the front doors of the Cutlass work for the Monte? I know the doors themselves are a different size all together but would the regulators still mount in the same spots on the Monte door and attach to the windows? If not, what other vehicles would have the correct window regulators other than the obvious G Body equivalents from Pontiac, Buick, etc?
Thanks in advanced for the input!
