Hello all, I just had a question as to whether this is common or not. When I leave my lights on or my key in the ignition the warning buzzer/dinger thing is VERY quiet and almost inaudible. Is this normal or something that happens frequently with these cars? The buzzer in my 80 Firebird is very loud and noticeable if you leave the key in it. And just for the record, I posted pics when I bought my car - a very low miles 87 Cutlass GT. I've been driving fairly regularly since I've gotten it tagged and I absolutely love it. Drives very smooth, and while it is no speed demon, I didn't buy it to be. I love the style and the ride, it's great!

Same here my chime is almost inaudible. Like a small bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

The reason why your 1980 firebird has a louder warning buzzer is because those who have a firebird or camaro are required to have a mullet which can cover the ears and could hinder your ability to hear the warning

Lol, but I haven't looked at the color of the chime housing, I'll have to take a look, but it sounds like that's normal so thank you for your replies.
