When you put gas in the tank, how much? You need at least 2-3 gallons in the tank to reach the pickup. Just pour a thimble full of fuel right down the carb. Let it sit a few seconds and hit the ignition, and it should fire, thus pulling gas from the tank. IDK, that's how we did it in the old days.
