I forgot I posted in here, but funny enough I’ve got a Type 38 Arisaka sitting in the safe, I’ll snap a couple of pictures of that when I get home.
Brought it outside since all my benches are full.

The barrel is in the white because when I got it I was a moron of a teenager and this thing was so rusty it was turning to dust in my hands. I cleaned and lacquered it at the time.
:blam:

Small note, from literature I’ve found, this is a school rifle (training), but the Tokyo Arsenal stamping over the Imperial Chrysanthemum is rather light, leaving it rather intact.

I’m unsure wether or not the triple 0 prefix on the serial number was added after it was taken out of service, or this rifle was really early. Either way this rifle is well over a century old, and came from Guadalcanal area after my grandfather nearly lost his life aboard Quincy at the Battle of Savo Island.

That really woke me up. Here is what I have. The action is long missing and we were told as kids we could not play with a real gun. But the bayonet was OK?!?!? Playing Army Man with this was awesome. Even the James Bond 007 attache case was not as cool as this. EDIT: Myitkyina is the capitol of Kachin State in Myanmar [Burma}. Big battle, Merrrils Marauders fought there.IMG_0669.JPGIMG_0671.JPGIMG_0668.JPGIMG_0670.JPGIMG_0667.JPG
