I believe this is the same car I saw in a recent posting. This time theres not pics but if it's the same car body was in very good condition for a 78. It's not a G I think its a Bbody but I could be mistaken. but it might be worth checking out to somebody. http://southbend.craigslist.org/cto/4775908339.html

1978 Pontiac Phoenix 4dr v8!! - $895 (Elkhart)

1979 Pontiac Phoenix fuel : gas transmission : automatic title status : clean
305 v8 engine, auto trans. Clean body and interior fairly rust free. Ran and drove everyday, I took it on trade and have no use for it. Text for pics 574-849-9164

Phoenix should be an X-body, a close cousin of the Nova. Too bad it doesn't have an actual Pontiac motor. Being able to easily swap to a bigger Poncho would help with its desirability, as would fewer doors.

Yeah I only posted it b/c I saw a 2door version I liked recently. It might fit a collection of parts in somebody's garage though who knows.

Those are sweet lookin' cars. I'd totally drive one, coupe or sedan

"rust belt" car.

run. run far far away. These cars did not survive "fairly rust free" That's like saying "75% fat free" when the sausage is 25% fat. know what I'm saying?

Some 4 doors I can live with, but not in an X body. I think the Phoenix was only rwd from 77-79, prior to that it was a Ventura, after '79 it joined ranks with the Citation. It doesn't seem like any of the X bodies after '74 really got much of a following. I do like the bucket/console models though.....too bad they're usually trashed when you find them.

Well I only posted it because I had a hunch it was a really nice one I just saw the other day. I mean this thing had lived in a garage at least some of it's life if not most or I wouldn't even have posted it tbh + I thought it was a b-body ; I don't really know anything about x-bodys yet and not sure I wanted to bother learning about them lol. I guess they had a tendency to rust out? Is that an understatement lol

Had a 231 automatic 1978 Skylark 4 door that we scrapped earlier this year. Rusted bad in the back.
