I used to use Russell's Frame Epoxy all the time but it is no more. Now all I can find is VHT Epoxy but only in black. Does anyone know of another brand with some color choices?

I have used Eastwoods 2K AeroSpray Epoxy, the true two component stuff, in the rattle can. It has grey, black and another color or two. The downside is the 24 hour +/- shelf life after activated.

This is the same stuff sold in the quarts with the activator.

Not sure if you are interested in this stuff, no cheap but it is real catalyzed epoxy primer.

They also have this in tan, true 2K http://www.eastwood.com/spray-max-epoxy-primer-aerosol.html?reltype=3

That's interesting. Looks similar to the epoxy in tubes that mixes on the way out the applicator. But my experience with those is that you get one shot and then it's clogged. 24 hr shelf life? That would indicate it gets mixed inside and there's no stopping it, just like the epoxy tubes. What I like about the Russell's and VHT is that the two components are mixed in the can, buy the catalyst is oxygen, which it can't get until it's out of the can. Simply inverting the can and blowing it out until it blows clean is all you need to save the leftover. (But I still soak the cap in acetone, just to be sure). Then it takes 7 days to cure, but then it's bulletproof.

I'd go to the local auto body supply store and buy whatever epoxy you'd like (in a quart, pint, or gallon can) and enough activator for it, and then pick up one of these Preval Sprayers. Mix up what you need, put it in the jar and spray. Clean it all out afterward and reuse it. Once the propellant is gone you can buy refills. I've used my Preval sprayer to paint the Lund Visor for my truck as well as the quarter panel on a Lincoln I used to have. Worked great for me. Here's a link-

That is what I use too. Though the cans still clog up most of the time no matter how well I clean them. Home Depot sells them now.

Interesting. I went on the site but it doesn't explain how it works. Does it siphon the paint from the jar, or pressurize the jar?

I love mine. They are almost cheap enough that if they clog you can just toss them and buy a new one. I've used the to spray PPG DBU on cars and it really works nicely.

That is cool, I have never seen that. I will be trying that for sure in the very near future.
