Decision has been made and cutting has started, 4" chop it is
Braced up

Marked out

With the fresh hair cut

And the quick mockup

Roof needs to be quarterd and cuts need to be cleaned up (as they were done with only a saws all...)
But so far so good.

No turning back now....
Looks good! Are you going to have to pie cut the roof in order to make things line up?

Do you have donor doors and cab for filler pieces or do you have to fab everything from scratch/

We are going to quarter the roof and add filler metal.
We weren't able to line up donor material so I will have to make due with the sections that were cut out. The profiles look simmular enough to me

Well here she is tacked into place

Finally got back on this.

Was able to use the removed sections from the chop to piece in some of the fillers. Here is a quick easy trick if you have an irregular patch you need to make like this interrior gap

Put some masking tape over the gap and rub it with your grubby fingers to leave marks on the edges

Then cut out your template and transfer it to your donnor metal

So the patch ins worked out well so far

Once the chop is smoothed out more the lines are going to look amazing!

Love the '79 header panel hanging up there in the background - serves as a visual mantra to get back to the Caballero...

Lotta work here, any more progress?
