I did some searching, but didn't quite find the answers I was looking for. I have read that the stock rear sway bar will not fit with a 9" Ford, or the A-body rear axles. However, I did see the 9" install in the stickys here, that does have a different style than mine installed. Looking from the rear, it is horizontal across the rear, where mine has a dip under the center section. What cars did these come on, and what size are they? Also, where is the interference with the bars?

The stock sway bar will not fit the 64 to 67 A body rear but I think it fits the 68 to 72 A body rear. I have the 64 to 67 rear and the sway bar is too wide You can check with JBrue, he has the 68 to 72 rear and I believe he has the stock bar installed. I used a. F body GTA rear bar with a simple modification.

Cool, I understand now, the spacing between the lower control arms makes the difference. Good post on the F-body sway bar, and my naturally-aspirated basset hound is extremely jealous of your rocket powered one. Thanks.

I have a '68-72 A body 12 bolt under my Cutlass.
I've got a Hotchkis G body rear sway bar (which is larger diameter than stock) bolted to a set of UMI double adjustable lower control arms, and it fits without hitting or rubbing anything. So I'd have to say you'd be safe with a stock diameter G body sway bar.
