i want to convert my rear drums to rear disc. i saw a good site a while back but cant remember. this company sold the disc brackets to use disc brakes from a late 90s f body for around 80 bucs and they also sold the modified proportion valve for using disc in rear. can anyone help me out with a link to a good site.

found it on an old post. flynbye performance is where i saw them. now i know i got to pull the axles to use the new brackets, and im debating on setting up the e brake, flynbye sells the modified cables for 100 and the shock relocate tabs for 30 but im not to sure, i dont even use the e brake on my daily driver. and they modify the stock proportion valve for 30 if i send it. but do i need to change the master. and if so to what year do i need it off of. im assuming off a f body that came factory with 4 wheel disc. these brackets cost 85. does anyone know where i can get factory disc brackets for cheaper?

do u know if a rear end off a 00 f body will bolt in. i can get one that came out a trans am for 300.

k thanks im gonna look into and go measure that f body rear. but im not to sure if im gonna do it yet. my plan is to spend only 3k fixing up this car. and try not to spend no more. so i might decide just to keep stock rear drums. but if i can get a rear end im goin for it.

No. They are too wide and have no upper trailing arm mounts.

i decided im gonna just keep stock drum setup but just replace all parts. one of the backing plates was bent. around the area that the wheel cylinder mounts to with that clip and it would cause the wheel cylinder to fall off the clip and eventually the cylinder would pop and there goes all the fluid. if i were to do disc i would spend at least 300 and that would cause to go over budget so im just ordering new backing plates for both sides. and a friend is gonna swap out the brake parts for me. 😀

I've been looking at this option for a while and was going to post a separate thread but i'll run it through here first.

I had an 84 toronado with 4 wheel disc. and I've got a FSM for both that and my 79 cutlass. it LOOKS like the disk brake setup off of say a toronado or eldorado from that era might be direct bolt on swap... now i haven't done a lot of homework on it but has anyone played with that idea?

i don't know if i want to swap diffs. but if i stick with the 7.5 i might try it in the junkyard before i try it in the driveway.
