I found some 3.73s from a monte carlo non posi. I was wondering if I could just put the ring and pinion into my rearend. I have a 3.08 eaton posi in my cutlass now. So will this bolt right in or would I need a spacer or will my carrier not hold this big a gear?

Well, chances are the monte had a 7.5 rear. If that is what you have in your car, then the gear will fit in the rear, but you have to find out what carrier you have, meaning is it a series 2 or series 3. The series 3 I believe is set up to handle 3:23's or higher. The series 2 does all the numerically lower gears. But somewhere in there I think the series 3 can handle 3:08's.

Anyone else know better?

It means you would need to order a special gear to use it with a 2 series carrier, or run a ring gear spacer.
