Was excited about a guy at work telling me he had an 82 Camaro rear end with 4:11 gears and disc brakes until I did my research and found out you can't bolt it into an El Camino. After some craigslist searching I found a 2004 Impala being parted out and for some reason I feel like I remember someone saying you can bolt this rear end right in. So my question is, can you? and if not could I use just the axles because I am looking to get disc brakes in the back.

Thanks

Um, I could be wrong, but aren't 2000-2005 impalas fwd?
.....Yes they are

You can still use the gears and carrier out of the Camaro. It'll bolt into your existing housing.

 Jackass of the week award.. thanks for the help. What are some interchangeable rear ends I could look in to? Preferably with disc brakes.

it happens  I dont think any rear end that came with disc brakes are a direct bolt in. The only "direct" bolt in is any rear end from a 78-88 Gbody. That being said the older 60-early 70s Abody car rears will work with a conversion kit for the upper and lower control arms.

Alright cool, time to do some craigslist searching!

Hate to ask another question that I feel is dumb but on CL I came across an a-body rear sway bar for $20, I've been looking to get one and for $20 you can't beat it. So the million dollar question is, will it fit my El Camino?

EDIT: An the front sway bar for $5! I hope it fits
