rear speaker removal '83 monte carlo

This may sound like a dumb question but I'll ask anyways: I am trying to replace my rear speakers in my '83 monte carlo. I've removed the mounts that are accessible from the trunk but I cannot figure out what to do next to remove the speakers. Do I have to remove the speaker panel in the rear window? If so, how is this panel removed? Any information is appreciated.

Those speakers should be bottom mounted so they should just pullout once you remove the brackets.

Has anyone successfully used adapter back plates to mount 6x9 rear speakers?

yea they work nicely just make sure then ur putting them in bolt the 6x9s to the plastic piece first then before anything hang the side with the forks first not the other end.. its kinda hard to describe but its pretty self explanitory when u get underneath there and start lookin around
