Thanks to GBodyEnthusiast for pointing this out. It looks as though the search function has been completely USELESS for some time, ignoring words that should be no-brainers to search for. I'm working on the problem, and I'm trying a different back end for the search, which requires a rebuild of the index. This could take a while, and may screw up things for a while.... Please be patient while I figure this out. Thanks!

Well, that went a lot faster than expected. 😛

It looks like its solved the problem, common terms like buick, cutlass, malibu, are NOT ignored by the search function anymore. At least right now, as far as I can tell.

If you notice issues like this which are absolutely detrimental to the site... please drop me a line and let me know! If I don't know its broken I can't fix it!

i've actually been using google to search this forum. It seems to pretty much have crawled thru the whole database. I just type "gbodyforum" and followed by whatever word or phrase I'm looking for. Works pretty good.

Also, I've noticed that when I search stuff using the sites engine, that some older posts don't pop up with links to the actual post. It just shows the couple of sentences around the search words, that usually show up in the search results, without anyway to access that post or thread.

Honestly I find the search function kind of useless on here. For example I just tried searching for "vented+gas+cap" and all I got was posts having nothing to do with it but just contained one of the words. I just use google and normally anything with "gbody" in it brings to a GBF page.

Hmm. Yeah ill have to see if there's a trick to it. Maybe put a different page with googles search on it... Thx for letting me know.
