i have a complete performer rpm hydrollic roller kit i set the valve lash when the engine was running cold because i wasnt capable off installing the water hose (ran over valve cover) i installed the lifters only coated in tpfe (teflon) i set valve lash 3/4 past 0 .

3/4 is too much lash for hydr roller. should be closer to 1/4 turn. no more than 1/2
+ 2 1/4 is all you need

If you were running on LPG, then it is probabaly running too rich. since LPG is typically just opposite of gasoline. Over rich mixture of LPG & oxygen = higher temps. Also, LPG typically needs slightly *more* ign advance than gasoline due to it's slower burn.

i started the buick again, headers dont get hot anymore, but now the engine knocks like a diesel, im sure its not detonating.

stupid me! the roller rockers have a torx system that i had not seen before.
now the engine is running near silent, GOD,I LOVE A RUMBLING, HOT CAM V8!!!.
butttttt........ oil leak, have to find out where.
i think its the timing chain gasket. butt its not concerning, yet....

Do you have a bolt installed where the original gasoline fuel pump is installed, if not some blocks will leak oil out of the bolt hole.

right. bump back timing (in the ignition stroke). he's igniting through the exhaust. I would like to know where you got the info of a rich mixture creates higher temps. What temps are you talking about? combustion, egt, cylinder, coolant? I could see EGT being higher but in no way would combustion temps be higher with higher numerical air to fuel ratio. I still believe he was running too lean.

what did you do? why don't you give any info so people can help you find out whats going on? is this an O2 regulated lpg system? did you change any timing before starting again? did you fix the lash?

such late ignition + if it was incredibly lean + hitting that roller cam hard may have done more than you may think under the timing chain cover, lets hope its just a bad seal

From what I gather, the studs on his roller rockers have a torx locking device on them so they don't loosen up, and he didn't tighten it and that's what the noise was coming from...
