Red vs Blue Lock-tite

I just remembered what heppened when we had a Firebird 305 rebuilt The rebuilder used the red on a pipe plug that later had to come out for a missing sensor. MUCH cussing and swearing over that. And the engine was out of the car no less. Now I know why my spider sense went off when the guy advised me use the red.

Sorry it took a few days, my car was at work an hour away as I bring home my work truck. This is the Loctite product selector...it has a fancy little slide out tool to show which item is suggested.
For your application, Loctite 243 (medium blue) is the pick...we already nailed that though.View attachment 104198View attachment 104199
You show off! Great chart!

I do like the blue paste best, shows it is better than the liquid for strength.

Am I to understand that the "wicking grade" (same blue liquid?) can be used on already assembled parts?
