I remember playing with them in 1982,83,84. So my wife comes home last night from work telling me a guy at her work was talking about his GI Joes he used to have. He is about 3 years younger than me. She said he was talking about Snake Eyes in particular. He had traded his GI Joes for a basketball to his neighbor kid and later regretted it. I told her she should get on ebay and get him Snake Eyes for his birthday which is in a couple weeks. She thought that was a cool idea. HOLY sh*t! Some of the Joes are expensive. We ended up getting a loose Snake Eyes (1985) with all his stuff for $50. I remember my favorite was Gung Ho (1983). Found him on ebay for $20 so I grabbed him for myself. I may have started a collection cause I recognized quite a few that I used to have. I don't have any of my old ones cause like an idiot, I blew them up, burned, and shot with a bb gun.

They were among my favorite toys as a kid, and I still have a few. My favorites were the crimson twins. And a few years back, I got a limited edition set that was at the Joe con in 02 of them but all the dark blue was done in crimson. Then bought 10 crimson guards for them to lead....yes....I am......a geek.

If you want to try and get some of your old Joes, try to avoid eBay, I got the above mentioned by interacting In the online community and paid a total of $100 for all of it. The twins alone were going for that much on eBay alone.
Now you know......

Yojoe.com is awesome for reference, they have a forum. Also, try this guy's site forcefull1.com it's a listing of stuff he has for sale. I can vouch for him being a great guy to buy from. Excellent communication, quick shipping and great prices. ( no it's not me, nor does he pay me to say good things, lol)
you can also PM me anything you may want, if I have any they would be real cheap, collector vs scalper / dealer prices.
Good luck and happy collecting.

COBRA!!!! lol.storm shadow as well as zartan, ftw🙂 I have all my Hasbro collection(which is pretty big, from the baroness to the terror dome)all accounted, for with my kenner crew(star wars),as well as my garbage pail kids and 3 micheal jordan fleer rookie cards😉in my attic.they should bring good coin when my 3yo baby boy turns "of age" to cash them in for whatever he wants😉

I wonder how much the GI Joe jeep would be worth today if my 7 year-old-brother had not cracked it in half by riding on it like a skateboard....

those were the days we could play with war toys, cops and robbers and cowboys and Indians and not get arrested or suspended from school..

Amen my rocket powered friend. I vividly remember running around my neighborhood, not to be confused with "da hood", and playing everything from hide and go seek to shooting my buddies with my cap gun.
And those were the old skool kind, made of metal without the orange tip.
Police rolling down the street would get "shot" and played along.
Now they would gun the kid down. So sad.....the times they are-a-changin.

I got the Cobra Water Mocassin boat for Christmas one year. Took it to a snake infested pond behind my house and pushed it out. It got out about 4-5 feet and sank. Walked back home to get my dads water boots and waded around but never found it. Water was too dark and muddy. I still feel bad about losing it. Cows were always in that pond so I'm sure it got crushed into pieces
