If you'd like to keep the heater and cant find a heat only box do what I did. Pretty easy, just lots of time waiting for fiberglass to cure 😀

If you still want to keep your heat, there are some companies that make aftermarket (non-A/C) heater boxes. Otherwise, just take it all out

Hey, it's cool and different. With a good clean/tidy engine bay, it would look real good

Yeah the engine bay is a mess right now after the a/c box surgery especially. Not that it was great before... Always seems to be something else to do to it LOL

Thanks for all the feedback. Once I get my new engine running, I will probably remove the AC then. It is a b*tch trying to bolt up headers with all of that crap in the way. And here in Texas, I definitely don't need the heat. I might put an under dash ac unit in though. I am located in the same city as Vintage Air, so there's no excuse.

BTW, where did you all get the cover plate that just bolts up? I'm sure one of those will look better than anything I could make.

I think the fancy chevy plates are on summit and ebay. They are like $60. I dont pay money for things like that and made my own. I think it looks wierd when you chrome up your firewall anyways. I made mine out of aluminum and painted it black like the rest of my firewall. Looks great. Here is a pic (not a very good one)

First coat of paint had fish eyes as you can see but I fixed that and hid the fuel pressure regulator now it looks really clean. Also the plug in my water pump is temperary. I cant get the fitting off to plug it right. Think thats a sign its time for a new pump.

It never ends  Even if there isn't anything to do, you will want to modify something
