I would like to replace my speakers in my 1987 of Camino - can anyone inform me as how to remove the dashboard only to replace the speakers?
Thanks for all the info, it's very helpful! On an 87 you shouldn't have to remove the dash. You should have a speaker grille on the left and right side of the dash, held down with two Philips screws each. Once the screws are out you lift out the grilles....the speakers are fastened to the grilles from the backside. Factory size was 3.5" I believe.
Pioneers?, I was wondering if their was an option of better quality available...I'll have to check them outHe's correct They're 3.5.last year i tried to replace with some nice kickers but the magnets were big they hit the dash/windshield.i went on amazon and found a few reviews on a set of pioneers that people mentioned they fit g-body's without issue. I too purchased them and they did fall into place without issue.if i could do it again i'd pull the dash back and run some nicer speakers.
