Pfft. 17x9.5s and 17x11s.

My point is that there isn't much contact patch to be gained in a 17x8 for any kind of lateral control. Go for 17x9.5s and 275/40s at a minimum on all four corners.

I agree, contact patch comes first. Side wall height, or lower aspect ratio, brings responsiveness.

C5 covette 17's and 18's with 245/45/17 and 285/40/17, iirc.

Dang! How many times have you switched wheels?!?!
Gives me alot of bad ideas! What spacers are needed for the 4th gen F-body wheels?

oh, who am i kidding, i'll never make it to step two. lol

What spacers are needed for the 4th gen F-body wheels?
iirc, 1-1/4 on front and 1-1/2 on rear. i have 85 442 springs all around, with c5 brakes on blazer spindles and factory rear axle. only rubbing on the front is at full compression. i'm running an iroc steering gear, otherwise the tires would rub on full turns.
