$50? Don't put reman junk in if you don't absolutely have to; get a new starter if you can.

As much as I hate to, thats all I can do for the next two weeks after the battery went kaput on me.

If the engine ground fixes it, I won't be putting a band-aid on the problem with a Reman, thats for sure.

There's an automotive parts re-builder near my house that i've been going to since the 80's and they are still around and I have a friend who works there. I get rebuilt starters and alternators from him that are built using all American parts and are heavier duty than a "new" Chinese built one. I don't need them too often as their stuff lasts for years, I had one of his starters in my car for 25 years! But I did use them last year when I bought a new starter, solenoid and alternator for my truck. It's a cash business but he backs up all his parts and he can tell if it's his because he marks them somehow on the inside.

My local re-builder is tops! His outlast the car.
Valve Stem cracked.
Some years back we were flooded with cheapola Chinese valve stems. They fall apart right at the wheel. I'm still getting bit by them now and then. All you do is bend them over with your finger and you see all the huge cracks.

Yep.. They're on the list to replace - all of them. Since I have access to a tire changer, its not a problem. Just hadn't occourred to me to check.
