Got my shorty headers today,Hooker 2466. I'm probably not going with a custom crossmember(double hump). I"m wanting to have 2 1/2 in. Exhaust. What inlet/outlet configuration I would need as far as my mufflers? I'm liking the Flowmaster 40 series. I'm planning on side exit (dual).

do you have any pictures of the headers installed ? im just wondering how they sit inside the car if you dont mind .

keep the pictures coming looks good so far

Not sure if that's the one. My father-in-law just uses it to move his junkers and tractors around his farm, don't think that truck has been out of monroe county (Sweetwater) in 10 yrs, but i could be wrong.... Good to see someone else from our neck of the woods on here!

Looks like a nice project. A good scrubbing made it look alot better. The price was certainly right..
Good luck in your progress. The Chevy rally wheels and disc brake caps look good on there.
Is the roof panel is the worst of the rust situation? If so, you're pretty lucky. Especially a car that's been sitting out in the field for a number of years.

Yeah, I have to say the roof issue is the worst thing about the car. The dash is cracked pretty good in a couple places and quite faded. Also the "woodgrain" is quite faded and looks like crap. I gotta get rid of that steering wheel and replace with a salon/442 wheel.! Anyone know what kind of inlet/outlets I need for my mufflers? offset? inline? (2 1/2 in)

Nice Cutlass Rooster, the clean-up made a nice difference. My car ('86 Cutlass) has 2-1/2" with the Delta Flow 40s and they're offset. But I'm running pipes out to the rear, coming out behind the rear tires, and a double-hump crossmember. Honestly, your style / need may be different since you're coming out the side & retaining the stock member. If you can get the car up on ramps / stands or even a lift, you can layout the exhaust before you buy. You can make mock-up mufflers out of card-board & tape, use PVC, rolled paper, paper towel rolls or whatever for your pipe. It may sound goofed, but it's really not a lot of work and you can get an idea of routing, clearances, hanger locales...

Anyway, good luck, keep the pics coming and thanks for saving another G-Body.

Jae,that's a beautiful 86! That's how i'm wanting to do my exhaust- sorry for the mis-information (or lack of) I like the look of the shifter in your interior also. Other than the rally pack guages, sport st. wheel and sweet shifter, we pretty much have the same interior, mine's nowhere near that nice, but it's intact lol. I was worried about how one of those shifters would look in my 86 w/out butchering the console completely. Are your mufflers offset on both ends? (sorry if stupid question) Also, what kind of cross member do you recommend? Again, Sweet ride!!
