Always kinda wanted a 2+2 and a rough one came up local.

Interior is pretty rough and there is some stuff missing. Engine is missing so its never going to be a numbers matching car for what its worth. Honestly probably going to throw my supercharged 3800 in it if I pick it up. Looks fairly rust free but theres some dents.

Any opinions on what the value on it is? If it was a non 2+2 it would be worth like $250 but the aero roof and nose make it something. The fact the interior is toast probably takes $1000 of the value. Guy that's selling it had it priced optimistically and it came up for sale at a price not out of line. Still more expensive than I think its worth but thought i'd ask.

Honestly, unless someone already is looking for a cheap PROJECT 2+2, or has a couple spare Prixs for parts, it's hard to tell. I'd say 850-1000. If by chance you just plopped a junkyard 5.7 in there, made it run and drive, it'd be 1500 to the right guy. Maybe wash it, spit shine and clean it up as best you can. Just my two cents.

It's worth something (as in it's not scrap/trash), but it's definitely going to be hard to come up with a concrete figure.

Unfortunately, it's the type of car that, because it's unusual/low production, the seller will always want too much and be hesitant to haggle.

Realistically, it really wouldn't be cost effective to restore. Maybe if you gradually pieced it back together on a budget, and didn't intend to sell it...the value just isn't there for really nice ones either. The main "problem", if you want to call it that, would be that they only ever came with a standard (non-HO) carbureted 305 Chevy.

I've seen 2 H/O Olds' sell for $25,000 at auction, but only because they had no miles and weren't even as much as breathed on since new. 2+2's are $9500 (asking) in that condition.

Lol almost no cars today are worth restoring. This isn't a numbers game for me. For one I think the interior is bust but that doesn't mean it's not possible to get it looking better than new. It's hard to believe that someone would actually think this is worth $250, it's been a long time since I've ever seen a car that low. It's rare for one and if I had the chance I would definitely keep good care of a rare car like that. Mod it chop it do anything but junk it.

It's been a while since I've seen a car that low too, but then again most older cars have generally been grossly overpriced and overpaid for in project/parts condition for a while. Scrap prices were higher for a while too, but they've recently nose-dived pretty good.

At some point you've got to realize where you're fighting too steep of an uphill battle with certain cars. I highly doubt any 2+2 would be scrapped in the near future unless it's hit by a train or pulled from the bottom of a lake (or better yet a salty ocean). But paying any more than $1500 would be borderline insanity for a car like this.

I'd like to find one myself, and one in similar (but hopefully better/more complete) condition would be the only way I'd be able to get one. It just comes down to do you want to put $10,000 into a $5000 car on it's best day. Endless funds, a nice big garage fully equipped with tools, and "I just like it" attitude would be nice, but for most people this isn't reality.

I'm sure the current owner has absolutely nothing invested in it. They more than likely got it for $250, and are now asking 10x that after partially parting it out. Where else would all the missing bits have gone? Mice and rats don't get that hungry.

There was one around here that was for up for sale for a month or so for $2500 it was all original but didn't run, the quarter's were bad around the wheel wells but it was straight and clean and not missing any parts and even the interior was clean. I was watching it on Craigslist and then they dropped the price to $1200 and it was sold within a day.
It looked way better than the car pictured above which looks like a parts car to me, I would buy the front clip and make a notchback 2 + 2 out of a nice standard non vinyl top GP.

$1000 was the price I was thinking on the high end. Ideally $800. Thats the thing i'm thinking, he knows its rare and thinks its worth something. Car is in Northern MN and if I have found anything is that parts and cars are way cheaper up there. Less interest in cars really. I bought 2 roller cutlasses 5 years ago for $500.

Got a little more info,it does have the trans and title. That really helps. Sounds like he has the door panels and it just needs seats and carpet. Seats are doable and carpet is easy. Big problem is the lost bolts from the interior and finding seats that look right.

I've got a 6.0 sitting in the garage Id probably drop in. Got enough cutlass parts laying around I could at least make it a car again. Problem is a hacked together 2+2 really looses its "2+2" persona.

Probably look at it this weekend and see how bad/good it is. I don't need the car but if its nice it would be worth cleaning up and getting back on the road. Its not like I'm going to just go find one anywhere so there is that!

i mean if its already missing a interior ish maybe it is destined to become the race car it was always wanted to be 😛 wink wink
