Rough 2+2 Value

I sold the 2+2 that I had earlier this year. The car was complete, but it had rust issues, and would have needed a complete restoration. The buyer bought it as a parts car for another 2+2 that he has that is in good condition. I got $1,500.00CDN for the car. Keep in mind that most of the pieces that are specific to the 2+2 (rear glass, nose piece, trunklid, rear parcel shelf) are unobtainium now. I know that Lauren Engineering is marketing reproduction parts, but the materials are different, and even that stuff is pricey.

GET IT BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE!!! lol, yeah id seriously try and get the ride,it looks pretty good with the exception of that quarter blemish? i scored my 3 aerocoupe's SS's(one being the unicorn "86")for practically nothing, being in the right place at the right time on bingo night🙂 and you say you have a 6.0 in your garage??!! come on now, interior is easy,i see a big profit to be made off of this G?(even though im a hoarder when it comes to these machines🙂)i think it would stay in my stable until that "rainy day"!!!

I would estimate what the car has in desirable parts. More than likely it has the 8.5 rearend, 200-4R trans, nose, rear glass, and odds and ends. That might help determine it's worth overall.
That's providing that the asking price isn't off the chart.
It would be nice if you were able to find another 2+2 parts car, and between the two, build one car.

Looked at it today.

Good news, the interior is more complete than I thought. Mice got in the rear and passenger seat but the door panels and everything else is there. Needs a rear seat since it got totally thrown out and the passenger seat needs foam and the cover, steering wheel, and carpet too.

Bad news, the body is slightly worse than I thought but not bad. No structural rust besides surface rust on the floors and a few dots around the body. Doors sag bad and drivers door has a crack in the top at the front of the window. Drivers fender has a dent that was badly repaired and it needs a fender. Quarter dent should pull out with a stud gun and a little metal work. Missing door weatherstrip and window sweeps. Drivers door handle is bent bad and doesn't work.

Decal set is there but starting to flake. Car would be a good daily driver as it is though. Paint didnt look bad but the yellow is starting to show through the bumpers.

Its worth throwing an offer at the guy.

Few questions,

Are 2+2 fenders the same as normal GP fenders?
Who re-pops window sweeps? Cutlass and montes are available but i havn't found GP ones
Anybody make seat uphoulstry or have a grey seat cover for a passenger GP bucket?

Otherwise everything the car needs to get put back together is there or in my hoard.

Ah, don't buy that... You gotta buy Lue's wagon!!

Yeah, there are so many options! Haha!

This car is a little on the rough side to really want to buy it. Needs bodywork to look "right" and I'm hesitant to get into a project that needs a respray.

Sat on the idea for a few days and still seemed good. Offered the guy what I felt it was worth and came to an agreement. Looks like I'm picking up a 2+2 around thanksgiving time.

Got a 6.0 that I'm bolting this on just waiting for it!
