Thinking about putting 98-05 S10 2wd blazer spindles on my Malibu. Is there any weight savings in this change and what are the pros and cons. The car is drag race car, how do the hubs hold up to wheels up launches. Thanks.

I just finished the swap I didn't compare weight and I haven't had the setup on the car long at all, but I would assume the wheel hubs will hold up fine. They are essentially the same spindle so I would assume their weight would be the same or very close. Are you going used or new? I went the used route and these are bolt on once you remove the abs sensor in the hub.

I shot some grease into the hub and they are like brand new now. Instead of replacing the Hubs when they start making noise,I can just grease them when I do the rest of the suspension .....

I would think the S10 setup would be heavier since the caliper is larger (dual piston), the brake pads are longer and the diameter of the rotor is slightly larger.

If there is any weight saving it will be min. The pro is you get better braking, the cons are just the cost of the upgrade. Gave some thought of doing it on my Sonoma project but leaving well enough alone at least for now. Know guys at the track running them with no problems

You should be able to pick up everything from a junk yard somewhat affordable. I noticed a huge difference when I made the swap. I got the spindles, Hubs, and calipers for $20 from a local junk yard. Would have taken the rotors also but I went drilled and slotted instead.
