SBC Head Question

The summit 200cc heads ARE brodix's ik200 (the ik stands for Iron Killer) Those are great heads. We'd also need more info like duration and stuff, in my opinion unless you were doing a 383+ go with the IK180s. Summit has those as well with their name on them for the same price I think. Those heads though in my opinion are worth the 1059 dollar price tag. Just save for awhile. Hell for 150 bucks more you can buy 'em with the brodix name and valvetrain. I think summit buys the head bare and puts there own stuff in their (still just as good) But like I was saying a 200cc intake runner is rather large for a street 350. Maybe if you had a large lift cam and a 235/240ish duration and a 2800+ stall than you would be having fun with the 350, but the power would come on at a little later, with the 180s you'll have great torque for the bottom end and plenty of horsepower for the top end.

That's a healthy can you have in your sights and it will make big power...When building a motor the last place you wanna skimp on is the heads..I can tell you I went with the dart pro-1 aluminum heads (200 cc) 2.02 valves and with a eddy rpm air gap, and the eddy performer rpm cam (488/510 lift 234/244 duration) I made 514 HP...then again I have my block punched and stroked to 388 ci....But I bet my numbers would have been much higher with the can you selected there....You oughta thing about going the 383 route or at least 355...Good luck with your build 8)

I have always heard that the SUMMIT heads were DART :? :?:
Nope, they are Brodix heads.... 8)

it all depends on my block. if its 2 bolt then ehh iunno about 383. But if its 4 bolt im gonna have it bored stroked and maybe forged for a shot of nitrous  . I have the 3970010 casting number its a 1970 Chevy 350 out of a impala/caprice anyone know if its 4 bolt?
So i should go with the 200cc heads from summit?

Look above the pass.side area of the timing cover and if you see a small hex type of plug thenm it's probably a 4 bolt main...Which you don't really need for a 383 though.....but I say screw the summit heads and buy the dart pro-1 heads..JMO 🙂

ya but those are 1400$ and the valve springs only hand .520. id rather be a little under than a little over
