In thinkin about sea foaming my regal. It idles a little rough, and judging by the sludge I found in my heads, I wouldn't doubt it has a ton of carbon build up too. Anyone try this before? I've heard a lot if mixed reviews on the stuff.

1 quart of transmission fluid in the oil works well to clean out carbon and varnish. Run it for a while and the do an oil change

I've also been told to run 3 qts kerosene: 2 qts oil, at idle, for about 5 minutes after the car gets hot, then change the oil, as a sludge removing method. I'm a little to scared to try that one out. I think I'll go with transmission fluid instead.

Air intake/combustion cleaner. Various brands but similar product. Seems to loosen sludge and varnish pretty well.

I've seafoamed my car before with good results.

I put a bottle of Seafoam in my gas tank, crank case, and through a vacuum line. I difinatley noticed a snappier throttle and smoother idle. This was in my mostly stock 400 sbc. When I got it there was sludge everywhere visible inside it. Definatley worth it IMO

That sounds like a really bad idea and won't make your car run any smoother -- IF your bearings even survive.

I've used Seafoam to de-carbon valves and free up stuck rings with varying results. It makes an awesome smoke show. I'd suggest doing it at night if you have neighbors or live near a busy street.

Snake oil is intentionally promoted fraudulent or unproven Medicine. The expression is also applied metaphorically to any product with questionable or unverifiable quality or benefit. By extension. :blam:
Not sure what your getting at here but I wouldnt consider Sea Foam snake oil. I have firsthand experience with it and it worked for me. I wouldnt expect it to fix a junk engine or make an old beater run like new but it did help. Just sayin

I have seen engines that have had everything from "Winns to Krex to Sea Foam , Run thru them, The truth is unless you completely dissemble a engine and physically clean every part. There is No miracle in a Can made by anyone that will fix a neglected sludged up engine. There is "nothing in a can" that can fix a worn out cylinder or fix a worn valve guide .
Its all designed to make you feel better by pouring something in your engine. :blam: These have been around for 90 years . None of them accomplish anything but relieving you of your hard earned money. So good luck to you brother...
