News says yes- Sears is saved- for now. I'm guessing wages will be slashed, stores closed, brands cheapened.

Big surprise, the main sticking points were Lambert not putting up his own cash from his hedge fund and waiving any litigation against him for questionable, criminal dealings while at the head of Sears. Interesting to see if he will actually do the right thing, not holding my breath.

OMG, does no one proofread "news" articles anymore? This is the second story on CNBC that I have read in the last week that have sentences that go nowhere

Been going to estate sales for a while and picking up old "Made in USA" Craftsman tools - that was the only reason I ever went to the store in the first place, to buy lifetime guaranteed tools, like my Father did. Once they switched to Asian tool manufacturers, they stopped offering correct replacements. I tried to replace a broken "guranteed unbreakable" wood splitter and the young lady said "That's not our product - we don't have anything like that". I scubbed off the grime and showed her the faded CRAFTSMAN logo - no help. I stopped shopping there many years ago.
