The back seat fits too? Is it fairly easy to swap the tracks and make it fit?

Did this ever get completed? I owned a 4 door Grand Prix 40th edition and I want to see how this works out.

It has not been completed yet.
I'm almost done retro fitting 2002 MCSS (Earnhardt) seats in my 85MCSS. I have the rear seats in and the brackets made for the fronts. I ended up using the seat tracks on the 2002's and cutting my original tracks to make the rear mount on the front seats. Had everything cut in steel ready to be welded and found out the 2002 seat tracks are aluminum (painted black). I assume the 2002 GP seats are the same? I can post up some pics in the next few days to look at.

How much work was it to put the rear seats in?

Bit of a pain, but not too bad. I made a couple of mounting plates and tacked them to the 'speaker' deck lip, cut the bottom mounts off that mount to the seatbelt bolts (from the old back rest) welded them to the tube frame of the new seat, then bolted the back in. The bottom needed to wire frame massaged to fit the hump in the floor, then carved the foam on the outer sides to fit. The bottom seat cover/skin I had to just tuck in behind once I installed the cushion. At work right now I'll post up some pics when I can.

Ok, here some pics of the rear (back rest) seat install. The bottom cushion clips in like stock, I just have it out right now while I run wiring etc.
The 1st and 2nd pics are the mounts where I used bolts to attache the seat to. Pic5 matches these mounts for the bolts.
