Hey guys, I bought these cheap boxes on a whim. Just wondering if anyone has used them on their taillights for sequential turn signal operation, if they work and do they hold up? Would be going on my 78 malibu with incandescent bulbs.

I don't have an answer for you but I'm interested in seeing how this plays out. I'm currently window shopping sequential turn signals, LED everything, and even "rope".

Like to see how this plays out... with the 1979 tail light housing having only two seperate brake/running lights on the outside with a backup light one in the middle, this wont exactly show sequencial, in a sense as if you had three directly in a row, ie, the newer mustang tail lights.

You could go this route...

I have sequential taillights on my regal. I seen the kit you have listed above, being sold on ebay or amazon. The reviews didnt seem the hottest. Mainly because they were not sealed. The 1st set i had lasted 9 yrs but 1 went bad and the company is no longer in service. The set i have now is from "Web electronics" and works with led and incandescent bulbs. The only thing i did different from the instructions is not drill a hole in my body for the wires. I took there module and filled it with rtv. I moved the wires around to help get a good seal. I put them on this last spring, so far good.

In addition to that, I saw this on one of the numerous identical looking listings:

Interested to see how this turns out and reminds me that I wish my sequential digitails went left to right instead of up and down

I like the Digi-tails El Camino sequential lights. I might need those on my wagon.

Add an extra socket(brake/turnsignal), splice it in with the original wiring as a third light, and extend the backup light wiring as needed... problem solved.

EDIT: According to this postings(below), seems '78-'83 tail light housings are swappable, find some used/clean '81-'83 tail light housing so you can go that route to have your three lights for sequential use, for some reason GM blocked the middle hole for the light, like it was never intended to be used, but im sure that can be opened to be used like the outer lenses.
