fully shaved my doors. i used autolocs 50lb solenoid and ran a emergency cable to the latch on the pass side of the car and hid it. never needed to use it till i started my car and shut the door. the weatherstripping wont push it open at all u need to buy poppers for it. all it is is a spring that pushes the door open.also as someone else stated you need to be careful welding the filler panels cuz u will warp the metal. i just did tach welds

the cheap 12lb kit compared to the ll metal 50lb ones

and here is the pushers cost like 20 bones. if u have any questions let me know

oh and u dont need to but a direct fir kit for g bodies. just the 50lb ones come with a mount that fits fine

I have my body guy doing the shave work so warpage will not be a issue he's good and the price shows that! 😢 I guess the plan is run one cable to one door and one to the trunk for safety back up's and solenoid wise none of them look difficult to install i just want dependable units that work. Still trying to find out if the viper alarm will open the doors anyone use one for that task?

If the Viper alarm has extra channels that aren't being used then you should be able to use them for controlling the doors/trunk.

You would need (3) extra channels to control the two doors and trunk independently.

I haven't had any issues with the gear driven solenoids not opening the latch. The big 50lb solenoids will surely work but were designed more for old '40's/'50's style latches that took a lot more force to open. The latches in our cars seem to be fairly easy to operate.

What model Viper Alarm? Almost all outputs on those are neg(-) pulse. You would definitely need to run those on a relay.

I found the install manual online here:
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...Ktkbfe-yBDE5PxA&bvm=bv.53371865,d.dmg&cad=rja
Looks like there are three aux outputs that are programmable as a pulse, which is what you should need.
Aux1:white/violet
Aux2:violet/black
Aux3:white/black
These would have to go to the 85 pin on a 4or5 wire relay. Each wire needs its own relay. The relay should be a 30a load.
86 and 87 go to batt pos(+)
30 goes out to door popper/trunk release
87a is not used on the 5 wire.
